The town keeps two kinds of seafront: the urban Arenal-Bol beach with its palm promenade and the rocky shore of Les Bassetes and Cantal Roig, with crystal-clear coves. Calpe's salt flats, right in town, shelter flamingos all year round. The fishing port is still active and its fish market supplies some of the best rice restaurants in the province.
Calpe's property market is one of the strongest on the northern Costa Blanca: designer villas with infinity pools facing the Peñón, renovated beachfront apartments and chalets in the Maryvilla development. Much in demand from German, Belgian and Nordic investors, with a rental season that runs almost all year.
